This will soon be a site for information about the "crack smokin" lawsuit that SCO has brought against IBM and the Open Source Community.

We will have the latest up to the date news as to the status of the lawsuit and any new bullshit claims that SCO comes up with.

We will also feature a forum for the Open Source community to discuss this matter.

For more information visit Groklaw it is a great site that gets updated much more often than this one!

Getting back to updating this site for you all! October 12th 2004

I have been getting tons of e-mails requesting that I get this site back up and running since its been about 10 months since I last updated it.

The forum has died down as well, it would be cool if we could get some activity there again. Visit our forum.

After 3 days online.... January 30th 2004

After being online for exactly 72 hours, linuxstolescocode.com has had over 30,000 unique visitors stop by the site! This was mostly because we were on the front page of LinuxToday.com and we were the "Most Read Story of the Day" for January 29th. Traffic has started to slow down a little bit, but the forums are picking up in activity, please visit and support the forums so I have motivation to stay interested and active with the site!

I have received numerous e-mails of support and appreciate everyone for their encouragement. I think we can make the most progress by discussing this stupid lawsuit and SCO's actions if we discuss this matter amongst the Open Source community. Remember there are strength in numbers, that is how we built the best operating system in the world! (that's not my opinion, it's a fact!)

Contact me at eric@linuxstolescocode.com with your questions and comments.

I have added another link which is a great resource about the SCO v. IBM lawsuit. The great people at Montavista Software (the Embedded Linux Gurus) had their legal department put a FAQ together with great info and links, it is located at http://www.mvista.com/sco-ibm.html, Thanks TOM!

Please email me if you have any links that belong on this site.

The last couple of days at www.linuxstolescocode.com January 29th 2004

During the first day we were online we had over 10,000 visitors stop by our site because a brief mention in a Slashdot discussion (we have not been put on the front of Slashdot yet) and today we are getting a lot of visits from a front page mention at LinuxToday.com. As of 9:00 PM Arizona time (MST), we are sitting at about 18,000 visitors in less than 48 hours.

My original intention of this site was for late breaking news about the SCO battle. I now think that it would be best to use this site and it's FORUMS to discuss the SCO v. Linux situation, you can sign up for a free member account AND YOU CAN EVEN READ AND POST WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT. I welcome both sides of the debate as everyone is entitled to their opinions. I will be posting the latest news in the forums here and also encourage everyone else that has the desire to help out to post news as well.

I will be providing an excellent source of links about the SCO battle on this page and the forums. If anyone has links that I don't have on the site, I would greatly appreciate any submissions/suggestions.

I also still do not intend to make this site and it's traffic into a source of $$$ profit. I have been contacted to sell advertising but have chosen not to allow paid advertising. I do want to offer free advertising for any Open Source topic/project or any thing else I think should be of interest to the visitors of this site. If you want to put your links/banners up, I would like a return link on your site and that is all. Contact me at eric@linuxstolescocode.com, and I will set up your link as soon as possible.

As far as links go, here are the first 3 I have to offer:

GROKLAW Provides up to the date information in the SCO lawsuit and other technology matters. Great legal standpoint.

Wikipedia SCO v. IBM Is a wealth of knowledge and complete history about the SCO v. Linux topic. A must read if you need to know every thing!

Slashdot.org My home page and a great place for the latest "geek" news.

Also 1 more link, it has a great cartoon picture featuring "Saddarl Hussinsane", you have got to see it over at LinuxItch.com

If there are any that I have left out, email me and let me know.

SCO Offers a $250,000 Bounty for the Arrest of the Person Responsible for Creating the MyDoom worm January 28th 2004

SCO is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the MyDoom DDoS worm creators.Read the press release at http://ir.sco.com/ReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=127545

I don't like SCO one bit, but there is no reason for them to be attacked with a DDOS. I am pretty sure that this was done by someone outside of the Open Source community and we are getting blamed for it. This actually makes the Open Source community look bad, and does nothing to help our cause. We are too busy with the development of the best operating system in the world to have to stop and take time to perform a DDOS. We know we will win this thing, and we know we don't have to resort to that type of behavior.

Bruce Perens has published the following article about the SCO DDOS Virus at http://perens.com/Articles/SCO/DOS/

Linux Stole SCO Code Website Created
January 28th 2004

Thanks for visiting LinuxStoleSCOCode.com, I hope you all understand the relationship of the URL and the 404 look of the index page. Please use the forum to discuss the SCO vs. Linux battle.  I welcome all help and all suggestions about the site. Right now I am in need of some forum topic suggestions and maybe even some moderators. It would be cool if we could get some conversations going. The goal of this site is to educate the public about the crazy claims that SCO is bringing against the Open Source community by forum discussion and the latest news from different sources in a timely manner.

I think it would be a great accomplishment to get sites to link to us and reference it in terms of "stolen SCO code in Linux" or "the battle between SCO and Open Source/Linux" and get it to appear in Google (the user will see a "404 Could not be found Page" and see the irony), just like the french military defeats, etc.

I do not plan on using this site for profit based advertising. I want to offer free advertising to the Linux Community.

If you have questions/comments post them in the forum!  You can also e-mail me (eric -at- linuxstolescocode.com).
